Pécs
With a combination of a winetour, or just a one day excursion to the South of Hungary, we suggest to visit city of Pécs.
Mysterious crypts from Roman times, domed Turkish djami, a slim minaret, exquisite Zsolnay ceramics, Csontváry paintings, decorative Vasarely patterns, almond trees blooming early in spring, atmospheric restaurants and cafés - this is Pécs, the 2000-year-old town with the Mediterranean climate and atmosphere at the southern foot of the Mecsek Hills. It has been a bishop's seat since 1009. Today Pécs is famous for its universities.
The city is about 250 km South from Budapest and could be reached about 3 hours by bus. On the way there are possibilities visiting famous wine area Szekszárd and one of the best quality wine growing area Villány.
