Budapest Classic mini

This is a small tour concentrating the most outstanding and important locations of Budapest, that the visitors should always see. It is mixed with a little foretaste of the Hungarian gastronomy and the special atmosphere of this great capital. Visit and enjoy, that it our main purpose.

DAY 1: BUDAPEST
Arrival to the hotel through transfer combined with sightseeing in the morning and check in the hotel.

Welcome information by the guide, and a half day panoramic tour of the city. During the tour we visit the Andrássy Street, Budapest's most beautiful avenue we reach the city centre. The European continent's first underground railway runs under the avenue. In the banking-quarter there are several impressive buildings, like the Hungarian National Bank and the Hungarian Television. In front of these buildings stands the last Soviet Monument of Hungary. On the Danube bank stands the country's largest building, the Parliament.

On top of Mount-Gellért is the Statue of Liberty together with the building of Citadella, being the symbols of Budapest. A marvellous view is to be seen from this spot on all the capital.

At night, the group will be taken with transfer to a typical dinner with hungarian folklore and wine. The restaurant is called Márvány Menyasszony, in english Marble Bride. The restaurant was found in 1793 and has been renovated several times. The guests can order from harvests of 17 wine regions in the cellar, this way getting to know a little of Hungarian wines. They offer traditional Hungarian dishes in fine variations and International cuisine as well.

Transfer is arranged back to the hotel for the group after the dinner.

DAY 2: BUDAPEST
Full day city tour with guide.

In the morning, the tour starts on the Buda side of the city. Crossing the river Danube we reach its right bank, which is called Buda. The most significant sights of Buda side are the Buda Castle Quarter belonging to UNESCO World Heritage, the block of the Baroque style Royal Palace and the civil living quarter with Mátyás Church. Fishermen's Bastion with its graceful line of buildings is overlooking the left bank of Danube, a breathtaking view on Pest side.

Followed by the visits, the group can have an optional 3 course lunch at the BorLaBor Restaurant. This place unites the traditional atmosphere of wine-drinking and civilised hospitality. The old style, red brick building has modern furniture which creates unique surroundings. The range of selection includes six top quality house wines and around fifty different types of bottled wines from all the significant wine-growing regions of Hungary. Suited to the characteristic atmosphere of the wine-cellar, the restaurant offers for the customers a wine cuisine where emphasis is laid primarily on old Hungarian flavours, combined however with certain dishes of modern cookery as well. The unusual duality is deliberate: they guarantee visitors casual, familiar, but at the same time superior hospitality.

After the lunch or free time, the city tour continues on the Pest side, with the Saint Stephen Basilica. It is a dominant sight of downtown Pest. The domes are visible from nearly everywhere in the city and the plaza housing the basilica is frequently crossed by pedestrians. It is also home to the Hungarians' most revered relic- the mummified right hand of the first monarch, King Saint Stephen - making it more than just another beautiful church to visit. One can view the hand and then ride the elevator to the 65 meter high lookout at the top of the grand dome for a 360-degree view of the city.

Continuing in our tour, we take the visitors to the Heroes' Square that was built in the end of the XIX. century, and the visitors can see the sculptures of the more than a thousand years old Hungarian history's most significant personalities. It is located in the green City Park, that occupies a field of one square kilometre, and we can find a romantic boating-lake that works as a skating rink during winter time. The Caste of Vajdahunyad that was built in the end of the XIX. century as a copy of a famous castle in Transilvania. The structure combines all architectural styles from Romanesque to Baroque. The park also hosts the "Budapest-Prater", offering a pleasant relaxation with modern and traditional games, the Zoo, being built by the example of Hamburg-Zoo, where animals are held in an environment similar to their natural habitat, and the Big Circus of Capital. The Széchenyi Bath, also found here, is one of the largest bath complexes in Europe and it is the biggest public bath in the Austro-Hungarian era.

We offer dinner spiced with a great sight, the Danube by night. Jump on board and enjoy cruising on the river accompanied by a magnificent meal. You can see the historical buildings from a different dimension while enjoying a welcome drink and a wine. This is the best way to feel the splendour of Budapest.

Transfer is arranged by to the hotel for overnight.

DAY 3: DEPARTURE
After breakfast, shopping and free program, transfer to the airport is arranged for the group.
