LOCATION The restaurant is located in Buda Castle, behind Matthias Church.
DESCRIPTION The main entrance of the restaurant is located at the right-hand side of the structure, behind the Matthias Church. Patrons enter the restaurant by passing through a beautiful wrought-iron gate. To the right of the entrance, in the central section of the building, the Knight Hall features a round, expandable table to seat parties of 10-25 guests. Tables for two, located on the second floor, are perfect for romantic dinners. On the ground floor, tables are available for parties of 4-6 and offer a private setting. All of our tables offer a view of the acclaimed Budapest panorama.
The highest observation terrace of the Fisherman’s Bastion is the Margaréta Terrace, located above the restaurant. The terrace can be accessed through a stairway inside the restaurant or through the external main staircase of the Bastion. Here, restaurant patrons can admire the full panorama while sipping their drinks (mulled wine, hot chocolate, tea or rum punch in winter; or chilled refreshments in summer). The terrace is fitted with free-standing outdoor gas heaters in winter.
The Fisherman’s Bastion Terrace, accessible from both sides, is open from the spring through the autumn, from 10.00 a.m. until 10.00 p.m. daily, offering hot and cold meals. The stunning views of Parliament, the Pest rooftops and the dome of the Basilica all make for an unforgettable experience. Every afternoon, guests can sit back and relax to the tunes of a Gypsy band playing international and Hungarian favourites.
The Tower Room, Budapest’s highest venue offering a 360-degree panoramic view, offers exclusive dining for 10-12 people. Currently, it is open only during the summer.
