LOCATION Travelling towards North from Budapest on motorway No. 11,there are some little holiday villages of the Danube bend. The first and biggest of them is Szentendre, a peaceful little town inhabited by a population of about 20.000.

It takes 20 minutes to get to the town on road and approx. 38 minutes by HÉV (local train). The town is situated on the Danube riverside and is an ideal place for water tourism. It is located in the rain shadow of the Pilis Mountains and has more sunny days without rain than many others.

"We went here for lunch with a group of people after walking for a couple of hours around town. It was lovely to relax and we were totally impressed by the décor and ambience of this place. Decked out like a homestead in the Hungarian countryside, the Rab Ráby is also a living museum as it is cluttered with bells, clocks, musical instruments and farm tools. You sit on wooden benches around the candlelit tables and soak in the atmosphere. We thought it was great. The traditional Hungarian fare is reasonably priced, and excellent. The waiters - unlike at many other places! - had some spring in their step and actually showed some enthusiasm while serving.
We had a set-course lunch consisting of soup, main and dessert and it was excellent. We would have happily stayed for longer in the delightful ambiance but the surrounding town and its shopping and sightseeing attractions were calling.
The restaurant opens from noon to 10pm daily. It is not on one of the main streets so it can be a little difficult to find, however, all the locals know this place so they can help with directions."
