Dreher Beer Factory

The museum shows how beer manufacture evolved and developed in Hungary and Kőbánya since the first days. The time of the guild breweries is commemorated by a guild banner depicting Saint Elizabeth of the Árpád Royal family. She is considered - along with Saint Florence - the patron saint of brewers, since, according to the legend, she strengthened and fed the sick and the old with beer.

Around the middle of the 19th century, breweries were built one after another in Kőbánya. The museum has drawings and photographs of the Dreher, the Részvény, the Polgári, the Haggenmacher, and the Municipal Brewery, along with a painting of Anton Dreher, the Beer King.

After introducing the process of making beer and going around the exhibition in the museum, the Dreher Beer Voyage takes the guest to one of the most beautiful brew houses in Europe to unveil some of the secrets of this noble beverage.

Tours are exclusively for people above 18 and groups from 10 to 20 pax.
