DAY 1: THE CITY

The venue is the air-conditioned Fakanál (Wooden Spoon) Restaurant covering 300 m 2 in the gallery of Budapest's Central Market Hall. The inside room seats 120 persons, the further 50-60 persons can have their meals on the terrace. The program lasts 45 minutes. During this time guests can sample their choice of our hot and cold dishes, as well as quality wines and soft drinks in a self-service, seated reception system. Besides the food, we also pay special attention to wine, the atmosphere and visual impact. This program is followed by a traditional shopping, on the first floor of the Market Hall, were everyone can find Hungarian traditional decorations and objects.

In the evening, the guests will first be amused by a Hungarian wine and champagne tasting. Under a parlor in a wine-cellar, every guest can taste a great variety of wines and champagnes. In this underground cellar system, you can find some of the most important wines produced in Hungary, the Törley Champagne Factory and some special views, like the world's biggest wine barrel. It holds more than 100 thousand liters of wine, and it presents the life of grapes and wine carved in the barrel. There is a saying in Hungary: "Wine of kings, king of wines". Here you will be able to experience why these words really do have meaning.

This is followed by a dinner. The restaurant is called Borkatakomba, and was established in one of the former wine cellars of a large cellar complex and serves as a material remain of the ancient profession of the region, viticulture. Guests are greeted at the arrival by the master of the house, then after having consumed the aperitif - helped by the wine-grower of the house - they can get to know the exhibition and wine museum showing world-famed Hungarian wines. During the dinner, the group is entertained by a folkloric performance. On the illuminated stage of the Theatre Room perform the high standard folk ensembles dances specifically designed for the Borkatakomba Restaurant. Along the evening 5 member gipsy band of Tamás Radics entertains the guests as well.

Transfer is arranged by to the hotel for overnight.

DAY 2: THE COUNTRY
Folk-style view of the city.

The day starts with a visit to Kecskemét, a city close to Budapest, known as the Capital of the Puszta, in other words, the center of Hungarian folklore. Here apart from viewing the impressive buildings all decorated with traditional motives, they will have a special greeting in the Town Hall, accompanied by an apero and a personal greeting card.

Lunch is served in a typical Hungarian farm, called Tanyacsárda. Here, in addition to fine food and drink the guests are not entertained by an evening of folklore but are encouraged to take an active part in discovering the true and living puszta. The aim is to provide enthralling entertainment that is both traditional and authentic. Guests may get to the restaurant on the special train which conjures up images from the turn of the century and guests may even come face to face with one of the highwaymen who used to ride and plunder travellers on the Great Plain. Visitors can also have a glass or two with one of the Hungarian herdsmen, dance with a gypsy and enjoy the melodies of the gypsy band.

The rest of the afternoon is free programme, but the day is still not over. At night, the group is taken to the presentation of the Danube Folk Ensemble, which is one of the most popular professional groups in Hungary. The members of the ensemble are both excellent dancers and musicians. It consists of 30 dancers and a 7-member-folk orchestra playing authentic music. Their aim is to perform genuine dances with dynamism and style, to create innovative dance-theatre pieces on these principles. The Danube Folk Ensemble's repertoire includes some gems of Hungarian folk dance tradition, while the Hungarian folk music is faithfully interpreted by its musicians. Varied and broad, the repertoire provides for several full concerts which are unique.

At night, we offer dinner spiced with a great sight, the Danube by night. Jump on board and enjoy cruising on the river accompanied by a magnificent meal. You can see the historical buildings from a different dimension while enjoying a welcome drink and a wine. This is the best way to feel the splendour of Budapest. It is worth the while, since the illuminated city shows a different face with the Chain Bridge and Castle District, shining in different shades of yellow and orange.

DAY 3: BUDAPEST
After breakfast, transfer to the airport is arranged for the group. In case of late departure, we offer the group a visit to Szentendre, which is a town of arts and museums.
